Lorian HOA Management Update
Dear Owners,
I hope everyone has had another great ski season in Telluride. As winter winds down, the Board is gearing up for continued improvements around the Lorian this spring and summer. Below is a quick update.
Welcome New Owners
We are so excited to welcome Casey and Halle Cane to the Lorian Community! They recently purchased Unit #19 and plan to renovate it as soon as possible. The Canes live in San Francisco with their three children and are no strangers to Telluride, having spent a good bit of time both in ski season as well as the summer. Halle is currently a Board member with the Telluride Academy, as their kids are active in that, along with soccer, hiking, biking and of course skiing. We look forward to meeting the Canes and their children over this summer.
Insurance Update
One of the Board’s top priorities for 2024 is to address our outrageous property insurance premiums. To that end, the Board voted to appoint the Marsh & McLennan Agency as our insurance agent effective Thursday May 2, 2024. We will be actively working with MMA to implement a more reasonable insurance coverage solution for the Lorian going forward.
Legal Update
Depositions have begun and will continue through May – July 2024. Our second mediation remains set for July 17 and 18, 2024, in Denver. Our trial date remains set for October 14 through October 25, 2024, in Telluride.
Improvements/Other Updates
Sundeck-Catwalk repairs and improvements have begun. We expect the bulk of the demolition and repairs will be done during the off-season months; however, the project is expected to take until late June or early July to be completed.
Our HOA website update is in the process of being transferred to our new HOA Manager, Telluride Consulting. We anticipate this being completed in the next few weeks and will let everyone know when the new site is up and running.
Spring cleanup and landscaping maintenance for the 2024 season is about to begin now that winter is ending. Where possible we will make immediate improvements and plan for larger investments in our property.
Our next regular Board meeting will be Tuesday, May 21, 2024, at 2:00pm Mountain time. Owners are welcome to call in and listen as available.
